2003 Nitro 288 Sport Fish & Ski

Model year 2003 rare to find fish and ski model. Best of both worlds, a Nitro thoroughbred with fore and aft fishing platforms, dual purpose fishing chairs that convert to passenger seating for your ski, wakeboard or tubing outings. Planes around 18 mph in under 3 seconds. She has been re-powered by the owner, a trained and skilled mechanic of 40+ years with an Evinrude Ficht model # E225FPXSS 225 HP 2 stroke, fuel-injected, automatic oil injected, EMM controlled, RAM, 25" long shaft 2000 model year motor with approximately 800 hours. The powerhead has recently been replaced with a used unit with less wear and tear with good compression on all cylinders, pictures to validate will be posted soon.
An adjustable jack plate has been installed to raise the lower unit to the appropriate operating height. Includes Rapture 3 blade SS prop with 14-1/4" diameter, 19" pitch as recommended by Evinrude. The hull has an 8' beam, weighs 1,805 pounds dry, has 8 person or 1,100 lb. capacity, 39 gallons fuel storage with new fuel tank sender, max. HP by manufacturer recommendation is 225. Has a solid billet aluminum ski pylon, positioned amidships for serious skiing.

In water speed test completed recently: WOT 60mph @ 5900 RPM. New spark plugs, 800 CCA starting deep cycle marine battery in Sept. 2023 kept consistently charged and maintained, cleaned and resurfaced underside of flywheel, and replaced the stator. Rebuilt starter. Replaced water temperature sensor, air temperature sensor, shift interrupt switch, starter solenoid, wiring harness, control, and power relays, and more. Added an analog temperature gauge to the console area. Replaced the analog voltmeter with a digital model and the trim/tilt gauge. Fuel tank sender replaced spring of 2024. Powerhead replaced spring of 2024, very tight compression. Replaced water pump impeller May of 2024. Gets up on plane in a heartbeat.

Two built in coolers, two live wells with console mounted fill controls - one each fore and aft on fishing platforms, three small storage lockers, one large under bow storage locker. Has a built - in 24 volt system for trolling motor with bow mount controls, motor not included. Has under deck storage locker for ski and wakeboard equipment. Comes with console mounted am/fm, 2 speaker stereo radio system. Built in VHF 2-way radio, with weather bands, and 8 ft. antennae on flexible/fixed adjustable mount. Two live wells, fore and aft on carpeted fishing platforms. Has wiring, circuitry, controls and mount to accommodate 24 volt trolling motor system. Converted to hydraulic steering with all new components, except hoses.

The trailer is a custom 2003 Nitro built model with diamond plate step platforms, tandem custom chrome wheels, detachable, swing away trailer tongue, single axle surge actuated disk brakes, bearing buddies, and reverse lockout solenoid built in. Tires replaced in 2020 with bias ply heavy duty tires, three have tubes for added durability.

The seats and Bimini top have all been replaced. The fore and aft fishing platforms and dive pads have been resurfaced with gray teak style EVA material.

The brake actuator was recently repaired and both disc brake calipers have been resealed and the brakes were flushed and bled. Trailer bunks (2) have been replaced recently.
