1972 Pearson 35 “Morgenstjerne” for sale
The Pearson 35 is a classic East Coast shoal draft sloop built by Pearson Yachts from 1968 until the early 1980s. Available in either a yawl or sloop configuration, there were more than 500 made, making it one of Pearson's most popular vessels.
Beamy for its time, it featured a room cabin and large cockpit with a relatively small sail plan.
Full Keel with 3.75 foot depth minimum and a 7.5 depth with the swing keel down.
With the swing keel down she points very close to the wind with very little movement to the leeward while sailing.
The vessel is powered by a 30HP Yanmar 3GM30F diesel engine mated to three-bladed 15x3 propeller through a Kanzaki transmission with a 30 gallon tank stainless steel tank. With just over 900 hours on her this is a practically new engine!
15 gallon blackwater holding tank
40 gallons of fresh water held on port and starboard tanks under the seating with a third tank under the vee berth.
Pressurized hot and cold water is provided to both sinks by a ShurFlo 12v pump
Hot water is provided by an AC and engine-heat powered Raritan 1250-watt six-gallon hot water heater in the lazarette.
The vessel has a 35# CQR plow-style anchor, with 5/16" galvanized chain and Nylon rode.
She also has a secondary Danforth-style anchor and rode.
Large asymmetrical spinnaker, two extra head sails with large 150% genoa currently installed on the roller fuller. The ones in storage are 125% and a 100% jib.
Extra main sail as well.
Small inflatable dingy with small 2 horsepower 2-stroke engine and a 50-lb electric trolling motor.
Many extra parts for projects I did not get to like a brand new depth gauge, new line, winch and dual clutch if you wanted to run the mainsail to the cockpit as you currently need to go to the mast to raise and lower it.
Two slab reef points on the main sail.
Propane grill and lifesling in the back of the almost 9 foot long cockpit which will hold six people with ease, perfect for taking friends and family out for a sail. She is very sea kindly and takes waves with ease.
Newer battery charger, alcohol stove, electric heater, new bilge pump.
She just had her bottom cleaned and new zincs installed by Dave's Dive Service in April 2025.
She is a simple and easy to sail boat. I have taken her out single handed many times, adding a crew mate or two makes her even easier.
Built in 1972 she is incredibly study, no soft spots in her deck, an excellent boat to get started with, and very little maintenance needed.
She is currently moored at Chinook Landing Marina and her slip is possibly available.
Selling her as I am getting my next boat!
